Going on a picnic — Идем на пикник

Майские праздники — отличное время устроить пикничок. А заодно можно обыграть эту тему с детками на английском.
Берем корзинку — если вы видели мой , то уже знаете, что это
a basket.

Для знакомства с лексикой по теме, давайте поиграем в игры и попоем песенки:

Игра №1. «Let’s pack our picnic basket» Game.

Давай соберем корзинку для пикника.

Cпрашиваем у ребенка что мы возьмем с собой на пикник:

What shall we put in a basket for our picnic?

Давайте устроим пикник!

и, складываем в корзину необходимые вещи, комментируя:
We put _____ in our basket . (Мы кладем___ в нашу корзину)
повторяем эту фразу каждый раз как кладем что-нибудь в корзину, чтобы она закрепилась:

We put bread in our basket. (хлеб)
We put eggs in our basket. (яйца)
We put water in our basket. (воду)

Варианты ответов:

fruit and berries: apples, bananas, cherries, strawberries, oranges, pears, grapes (фрукты и овощи: яблоки, бананы, вишни, клубника, апельсины,груши, виноград)
sandwiches: with cheese and tomato, ham, turkey (бутерброды с сыром и помидором, ветчиной, индейкой)
juice: orange, apple, cherry (сок: апельсиновый, яблочный, вишневый)
vegetables: tomatos, cucumbers, bell pepers (овощи: помидоры, огурцы, перец болгарский)
meat for barbecue (мясо для шашлыка)
chicken (курица)
salad (салат)

Что у нас есть с собой для пикника?

Давайте пойдем на пикник

Играем, как будто (или когда) мы уже на пикнике и достаем продукты из корзинки.

We’ve got ______for our picnic. (у нас с собой для пикника________)

ответы те же, что в в первом варианте игры, отличие только в том, что у кого-то будет время поиграть дома, пока собираетесь, а у кого-то — уже непосредственно на пикнике.

Здесь же можно вспомнить лексику посуды:

What else have we got ? Что у нас есть еще с собой?

We’ve got a tablecloth\4 plates\4 glasses\4 forks\4 spoons\4 knives\4 cups. У нас есть скатерь/4 тарелки/4стакана/4 вилки/4 ложки/4 ножа/4 чашки.

Опять же повторяем всю фразу целиком каждый раз, пока не завязнет на зубах:)

Дома в эту игру можно играть используя игрушки или картинки еды и игрушечную/ нарисованную корзинку.

Еще одна игра, (для деток, кто уже немного слов знает) которая тоже очень многим детками нравится, попробуйте, она не такая сложная, как кажется:

Игра №3. «Going on a picnic» Game — Игра «Идем на пикник»

Минимум 2 игрока. Один (ведущий) загадывает какое-то правило о том, что можно взять с собой на пикник и не говорит о нем другим игрокам. Правила могут задавать любую закономерность: цвета, формы, категории продуктов и т.п.):

Only things you can eat can go on the picnic (apples, oranges, pancakes). (Берем на пикник только то, что можно есть).

Остальные игроки, путем проб и ошибок, должны разгадать это правило. Сейчас на примерах объясню подробнее, и сразу станет понятно.

Например, ведущий загадывает:

Only yellow things can go on the picnic (bananas, the sun, dandelions, etc.). Только желтые вещи можно взять на пикник (бананы, солнце, одуванчики и т.д.)

Затем ведущий начинает игру — говорит первую фразу о том, что можно брать с собой на пикник, которая подчиняется загаданному правилу, например:

“I’m going on a picnic and I’m bringing bananas, and I can go.” Я иду на пикник и беру с собой бананы и тогда я могу идти.

“I’m going on a picnic and I’m bringing grapes?” (я беру с собой виноград? — это если подумал, что правило про фрукты)

Так как загаданное правило — что только желтые вещи можно взять на пикник, то ведущий грустно качает головой в знак отрицания:

“You can’t go.” (Ты не можешь пойти)

Теперь снова ведущий говорит:

“I’m going on a picnic and I’m bringing the sun, and I can go.” Я иду на пикник и беру с собой солнце и я могу идти.

И снова другой игрок пытается угадать что же можно брать с собой и так до тех пор пока не поймет логику правила. Тогда можно поменяться ролями. Кстати, ведущий может говорить как правильные вещи, так и неправильные, но в этом случае меняет конец фразы на «I can’t go «, например: “I’m going on a picnic and I’m bringing tomatoes, and I can’t go.”

Игру можно адаптировать под разный возраст — загадывать более легкие правила или более сложные (например, можно брать с собой только те вещи, которые начинаются на первую букву имени моей мамы) — на русском тоже можно играть, очень развивает логику и хорошо в длительной дороге, когда нужно занять чем-то детей.

We often have a picnic in summer. I really enjoy it, because it"s always sunny, we can play and have my mother"s cakes which are really delicious. I think I am getting closer to my family when we have a picnic.

We often with my girlfriends for a picnic in the woods. This time we decided to have a picnic tomorrow. I began preparing to collect things , I could not wait until morning that would rather go on a picnic . Then came the day outing I met Lisa , light and Alina and we went into the woods . We came to our favorite place there was no sun and clouds . we ate and ran to play hide and seek , I drove Lisa and Alina hid behind a tree , Light hid behind a large rock . I immediately found with Alina and light duty could not find then Lisa said that rent because they can not find the light . She came out and after a long hide and seek , we were tired and went to dinner we agreed to meet here in a week and went home.

I think celebrating birthdays in flats rather boring. In Russia eating and drinking occupies the most part of a birthday celebrating. Everybody at the table very quickly becomes full and begins to feel sleepy. I hate such birthdays. But there is a good way out if your birthday is in summer, early autumn or late spring. You can have a birthday party in the shape of a picnic. It is very convenient when you have a dacha or a country house.

Thus you may not hurry to finish picnicking and stay outside late at night and then go to sleep. And your birthday picnic can have a nice continuation of a fireside friendly night chat. This is also not bad if you do not have an opportunity to celebrate your birthday on a dacha. In this case you choose any place in a forest or a park and have a picnic there. The only thing that may prevent you from enjoying yourselves is weather and mosquitoes. If it rains it is very difficult to make a fire. Besides, is there much pleasure in being wet in the forest? But it is equally unpleasant if it is hot. In hot weather one does not have much desire to stay by the fire and drink anything alcoholic. And almost in any weather there are armies of mosquitoes wishing to feast on our flesh and blood. So you have to be equipped with effective insect repellents. There are obvious advantages in having birthday picnics. First, it is much cheaper, than celebrating at home or a restaurant. Second, the atmosphere of a picnic is rather special and very friendly. I like it, when several people take part in making a fire and cooking. It is so nice to have a relaxed chat with your friends while sitting by the fire, listening to the sound of nature and, of course, eating tasty food. I am sure, that celebrating a birthday on a picnic, gives more pleasure, than doing it somewhere in the town. It is very important not to take with you any music players or radio sets! Living in cities we got used to hearing these artificial sounds since early morning. I am sure there is no need for doing it in the forest.

Singing of birds, cracking of fire burning, wind howling – are the sweetest sounds that we hear so seldom. After a picnic it is a must to collect all the garbage, put it into plastic bags and take it to the nearest garbage bin. And of course one has to be absolutely sure that the fire is put out. The only minus of birthday picnics is that it is rather difficult to have tea with a cake in the forest. So you can invite your guests to your place where you can enjoy it for some time. Picnic is my favorite way of celebrating my birthdays. Sometimes when the weather is rainy I have to celebrate my birthday at home.

On a picnic

When the weather is fine I sometimes have a picnic at the weeke nd. Three of my close friends are great lovers of picnics, too. So, first of all I phone them to learn if they can go out with me or not.

Usually we arrange a date and time for a picnic beforehand. Also we discuss all the matters and appoint persons responsible for music, games, setting the table and the like.

I must say that everyone dreams to change the scenery and relax. Sometimes there`s a great desire to escape from reality of our life. As a rule, all my friends accept my invitation to go on a picnic with pleasure.

Claire and Catherine taketheir pets with them. Claire has got a beautiful collie and Catherine owns a big bulldog. Mary wants to take her persian cat on a picnic, too. But she is afraid that dogs hate cats. So the cat has to stay at home, because we need the dogs badly to guard our company.

Once we chose a wonderful place for our rest. It is a very picturesque place in the countryside not far from our neighbourhood. My dad gave us a lift, that`s why we had a chance to take a lot of necessary things with us: a tent, sleeping bags, rucksacks, a hammock,a portable fridge, a barbecue, water carriers, a gas cooker,thermos flasks and so on.

First we pitch our tent, hang a hammock up and arrange everything in a good order.

Then Claire burns a fire and takes care of the barbecue. She is always very good at cooking grilled meat. Catherine starts to set the table. Mary and I take water carriers and go to the nearest village well for fresh water.

The dogs have nothing to do, but play hide-and-seek, run after each other and bark. Sometimes they try to steal a piece of meat from Claire`s but she doesn`t allow them to do it.

It has already become a tradition for us to discover new and unknown things around. For example, Claire gathered a big collection of spiders, butterflies and beetles. She considers some species to be very rare. Catherine drew quite a few interesting sketches of the countryside landscape.

In the evening we keep late hours: we warm near the fire, enjoy mysterious nature and silence around. I always tell endless stories to my friends. They say, I am a good storyteller.

When the time for our departure comes, everybody wants to delay it and lengthen the happy hours of our picnic.

Иногда я бываю на пикнике по выходным, когда погода стоит хорошая. Трое из моих близких подруг тоже очень любят пикники. Поэтому прежде всего я звоню им, чтобы узнать, смогут ли они поехать со мной или нет.

Обычно мы договариваемся о дате и времени для пикника заранее. Также мы обсуждаем все вопросы и назначаем ответственных за музыку, игры, питание и тому подобное.

Я должна сказать, что все мечтают о перемене обстановки и отдыхе. Иногда есть большое желание бежать от реалий нашей жизни. Как правило, все мои подруги принимают приглашение поехать на пикник с удовольствием.

Клара и Екатерина берут с собой своих питомцев. У Клары есть красивая собака колли, а у Екатерины - большой бульдог. Марина тоже хочет взять с собой на пикник своего персидского кота. Но она опасается того, что собаки ненавидят кошек. Поэтому кот вынужден оставаться дома,так-как что мы очень нуждаемся в том, чтобы собаки охраняли нашу компанию.

Однажды мы выбрали замечательное место для отдыха. Это очень живописное место за городом, недалеко от нашего района города. Мой отец подвез нас на машине, поэтому у нас была возможность взять с собой много необходимых вещей: палатки, спальные мешки, рюкзаки, гамак, сумку-холодильник, барбекю, ёмкости для воды, газовую плиту, термосы и т.д.

Сначала мы устанавливаем палатку, подвешиваем гамак и наводим полный порядок. Затем Клара разводит огонь и хлопочет около барбекю. Она всегда хорошо готовит мясо на гриле. Екатерина начинает накрывать на стол. Марина и я берем ёмкости и идём к колодцу в ближайшей деревне за свежей водой.

Собакам нечего делать, кроме как играть в прятки, гоняться друг за другом и лаять. Иногда они пытаются украсть кусок мяса у Клары, но она им этого не позволяет.

Для нас уже стало традицией открывать что-либо новое и неизведанное вокруг. К примеру, Клара собрала большую коллекцию пауков, бабочек и жуков. Она считает, что некоторые виды редкостные. Екатерина сделала довольно много интересных набросков загородного пейзажа.

Вечером мы допоздна не ложимся спать: греемся у костра, наслаждаемся таинственной природой вокруг и тишиной. Я рассказываю очень длинные истории своим подругам. Говорят, что я -хороший рассказчик.

Когда приходит время отъезда, всем хочется отложить его и продлить счастливое время нашего пикника.

I enjoy picnics. A picnic is something special. It has several unique features. For one it comes very seldom. It involves participation in and enjoyment by a number of people. It allows the pleasure and thrill of a short journey in the company of friends. It takes palace in the open without any restraining walls or roof. It allows scope for any sort of activity. It gives one pleasure of eating food that tastes different simply because it has been cooked in a different manner.

The success of a picnic depends on the spot, the weather, the company and the food.

Every year we have a school picnic. It is an occasion which we all look forward to. The teachers too seem to enjoy it very much. Last year it was decided that we would go to Bajra Barahi for our picnic. It was a place that most of us had not been to and we were therefore curious. We were to go on a Thursday in the second week of October.

The day dawned bright and clear. I was up and out of bed earlier than usual. The first thing that I did when I got out of bed was to go and look out of the window. We were to leave school at ten o’clock.

The journey would take about one hour. That day we did not have to wear our school uniforms. This made the event even more exciting. By half past nine all of us had gathered in the school compound. The teachers had brought out all the things that we would need. The pots and pans, firewood and food were in a pile. Suddenly everybody began to cheer. I looked around to see what had happened. The two buses that were to take us to the picnic spot had arrived. We were made to line up and then we got on to the buses. When everything had been put in we set off.

The buses were in good condition and we had a smooth journey. On the way we sang songs until our throats were dry. Some even attempted to dance. At a little before ten we reached Bajra Barahi. We got off the buses and went to the picnic spot. After everything had been settled we were given a plate of rice pudding each. The plates were, of course, leaves. Some of the teachers then set about making the preparations to cook the food. Two of our teachers took charge of us. They had arranged several games for us to play. The games were very enjoyable.

There were so many games that we were still playing them when lunch was announced. By now we were quite hungry. We washed our hands at a nearby spring and sat down on the grass with our plates of leaves in front of us. The teachers served us. Even though the rice had not been properly cooked I enjoyed the food very much. I think the novelty of the situation more than made up for anything that the food lacked. After we had eaten we were allowed to play on our own. This was to allow the teachers to have their own lunch. My friends and I decided to explore and we took a walk up the hill.

We came to a deserted temple. It was so quiet and lonely that we became a little scared. We quickly rejoined our other friends. Then all of us got together and sang and danced. Our teachers too joined us after they had finished their lunch. At five o’clock we had our tea and then we got ready to return. We help to load the pots and pans on the buses relatively quiet. Everybody was tired and our few feeble attempts at singing lacked enthusiasm. By the time we reached school most of us were asleep. It had been a delightful picnic and a perfectly enjoyable day.
